This is my favorite post workout treat! After you workout it’s important to refuel your body with protein, carbs, and a little sugar for proper recovery. These protein bites are the perfect combination and are so easy to make!
For you nursing moms, this is a perfect snack to have on hand to help keep that milk supply up, especially while on a workout program like The Fit Mom Guide.
Yield: 14 Balls (Depending on size) Total Time: 10 min
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Old Fashioned Oats
- 1 cup Nut Butter (Peanut, Almond, etc.)
- 1/2 cup Ground Flaxseed
- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (I used a mix of semi sweet and white chocolate in these ones)
- 3 Tablespoons Honey
- 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
STEP 1:
- Combine 1 cup Nut Butter, 3 Tablespoons Honey, 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract in medium sized bowl.
STEP 2:
- Now add 1 cup Old Fashioned Oats, 1/2 cup Ground Flaxseed, 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
STEP 3:
- Add 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
STEP 4:
- Using a cookies scoop or your hands, form the mixture into balls and place on a cookie sheet.
- Place the sheet in the freezer for about an hour for them to firm up.
- Once firm, I transfer them into a container and store in the fridge.
ENJOY!!
